Quonset hut and many more topics

Not a problem! A frame of many capacities, Quonset huts are are tough, easy to move, adaptable and affordable. The materials are corrugated and galvanised which allow for its portable quality and its ability to withstand the elements. Quonset huts were engineered for the United States Army during World War Two because the army needed a structure that was easy to move, easy to construct, it proved to be adaptable to any conditions that the army needed it to withstand. While Quonset huts mainly served as a barracks for troops and army personnel, these buildings also fit the needs of the army medicinal staff, the mechanics, librarians and postal workers on the military sites. After the war Quonset huts were viewed as a piece of architectural inspiration in Art and Architecture magazine and their influences can still be seen in the architecture of today that prizes open space.
